In January 2006, a settlement agreement on future electric generation capacity markets submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) by the majority of New England market participants included a ground-breaking provision. In short, this provision covered participation of alternative energy resources—including distributed generation, demand response and energy-efficiency projects.
A leader in alternative resources
CSG is leading the effort to ensure favorable treatment of these alternative resources in the implementation of this settlement by the Independent System Operator for New England (ISO-NE), which will be completed by the fall of 2006. Capacity payments to qualified alternative resources began in December 2006.
