Conservation Services Group Contractor and Energy Auditors

CONTRACTORS

CSG’s commercial and residential contractors are critical to our success. We work with a broad range of contractors, from air sealing & insulation experts to technicians specializing in particular mechanical systems (e.g. furnace, HVAC, water heater). By partnering with contractors who share our passion for high-quality work and customer service, we can deliver complete solutions that exceed the expectations of our clients.

Our contractors can tap into CSG's Applied Building Science team to stay abreast of the latest industry research in energy efficiency and clean energy technologies. We also share information and insights that we learn from participating in various local and national industry groups such as Building Performance Institute, Inc (BPI) and Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).

ENERGY AUDITORS

Professional energy auditors are crucial to identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency and building performance. Depending on the area of the country, energy auditors may be CSG employees or from independent, third-party organizations with certified professionals.

CSG uses the “whole house approach” meaning that we look at:

1. Thermal envelope – i.e. the shell insulation and air leakage
2. Mechanical systems – i.e. HVAC and domestic hot water
3. Appliances and lighting that may need replacing

This approach looks at these areas and their interaction given usage rates, building site and climate to assess the home's overall energy efficiency and performance and to make targeted recommendations for improvement and reducing demand.
