Conservation Services Group's network of commercial and residential energy contractors are critical to our success. We work with a broad range of efficiency contractors, from air sealing & insulation experts to technicians specializing in particular mechanical systems (e.g. furnaces, HVAC efficiency, water heaters). By partnering with reliable contractors and energy auditors who share our passion for high-quality work and customer service, we can deliver complete energy solutions that exceed the expectations of our clients.
Our energy contractors can tap into CSG's Applied Building Science team to stay abreast of the latest industry research in energy efficiency and clean energy technologies. We also share information and insights that we learn from participating in various local and national industry groups such as Building Performance Institute, Inc (BPI) and Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET).
We offer online energy efficiency training and hands-on classroom workshops that allow participants to demonstrate competence for specific skills such as air sealing or insulation installation. Our training is available for individual contractors seeking industry certifications in energy auditing, as well as large-scale training for entire regions of energy efficiency workers such as our Weatherization Worker Boot Camp held in Fitchburg, MA.
ENERGY Auditors and Energy Advisors
Professional energy auditors are crucial to identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency and building performance. Depending on the area of the country, energy auditors may be CSG employees or from independent, third-party organizations with certified professionals.
Conservation Services Group uses the “whole house approach” to energy efficiency auditing, meaning that we look at:
- The Thermal envelope – improving a home's shell insulation and reducing air leakage
- Mechanical systems – increasing the efficiency of HVAC and domestic hot water
- Replacing Appliances and lighting with energy efficient options
CSG"s whole house approach to energy auditing also looks at residents' lifestyles, energy usage rates and variables in the building site and climate to assess the home's overall energy efficiency and performance. This comprehensive approach allows us to make targeted recommendations that will improve a home's efficiency and reduce residential energy demand.
